NJC staff

People choose to work for NJC because they are respected by management and encouraged to take ownership and pride in their work, within buildings they can be proud of . Enhanced training and morale boosting techniques are used together with regular Director site visits. Cleaning staff that never see the company owners or directors will never feel properly valued.

The quality of service provided is in large measure governed by the quality of the first line cleaning staff. NJC personnel realise that they are 'not just cleaners', but image enhancers for the UK's top companies. It can be very difficult to attract and retain competent well motivated cleaning staff. The inherent reason for this are the low incentives offered in the industry, particularly for part time workers. How can a cleaning company encourage and motivate staff with low self esteem and low pay working unsocial hours? NJC make its staff fully aware that they are very important. They are equally as important as our clients and without them we could not provide the very best in cleaning services. This approach boosts morale and increases self esteem (and it works!).

Other less psychological ways to incentivise staff are: attendance bonus schemes; provision of transport; good management support; increased benefits and better working conditions. Attendance bonuses are a proven way of decreasing absence due to feigned sickness. Team morale increases as consistent absence by one increases pressure and workload on other team members.
